Floor Care Job Description
Job purpose for a Floor Care worker is to keep floors, stairs, and escalators in the mall in a clean and orderly condition.
Duties and responsibilities are as follows:
Sweeps, mops and/ or scrubs floors and stairs.
Vacuums carpet each night as well as full detail cleaning of entrance ways and soft seating areas as to keep the Center as clean as possible as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor, Manager etc.
Perform projects as prescribed by Shift Supervisor and Department Head.
Performs periodic stripping, refinishing and buffing of floors as directed by Shift Supervisor and Department Manager. Full detail cleaning of elevators, escalators and railing throughout the center.
Follows all safety procedures as directed by Housekeeping Supervisor or as identified by MSDS documentation for use and application of products and materials.
Performs preventative maintenance checks on all equipment used.
Supervisory Experience: None
Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED preferred
Experience: 6 months to 1 year cleaning experience preferred
Other Qualities: Ability to operate the following types of equipment: Broom’s, Mops, Scrubbers, Buffers, and Vacuum cleaners
