West Nyack – BRIDGES, an Independent Living Center dedicated to advocacy and leadership on behalf of people with disabilities, is proud to open its community headquarters inside Palisades Center. The 7,600 accessible square-foot office, home to 44 employees, is located on level two, near Autobahn Indoor Speedway.
BRIDGES mission is to provide advocacy and leadership towards an accessible, integrated community, promoting health and autonomy for people with disabilities.
“We are thrilled that BRIDGES chose Palisades Center as their new home,” said Darrin Houseman, General Manager of Palisades Center. “We are always looking at ways to incorporate new and innovative uses into the property and BRIDGES is a perfect example. We look forward to continuing our partnership and working with the organization to fulfill their mission in the community.”
“BRIDGES chose the Palisades Center as its new home because of its central location in Rockland County. The Center is easily accessible from all parts of the County, providing an opportunity to reach a broader audience, ensuring more individuals have access to opportunities,” said Carlos Martinez, CEO/Executive Director of BRIDGES. “In an environment where one in every five people has a disability, community members can now easily access our services and programs in the heart of Rockland. This is a highly visible location that allows us to connect with people we would never have met in a more traditional office environment. Our role is to remove barriers and advance autonomy and the Palisades Center provides an ideal location to do that.”
“The advocacy and training that BRIDGES provides and the care and support they share here in Rockland are critical to our future success. All of our residents deserve the access and ability to live their lives to the fullest,” said County Executive Ed Day. “By locating their headquarters at the Palisades Center, they are well positioned to not only provide services to residents but to increase awareness of programs available to people with disabilities.”
“I am delighted that BRIDGES is staying in Clarkstown and have found their new home here in the Palisades Center,” said George Hoehmann, Town of Clarkstown Supervisor. “I wish them continued success in their mission of delivering powerful advocacy and transformative solutions for people with disabilities as well as veterans in Rockland County.”
“We are excited that BRIDGES is opening their doors at Palisades Center,” said Donald Franchino, Clarkstown Councilman. “This partnership gives the residents of Clarkstown and the surrounding community easier access to the life-changing services and advocacy programs that BRIDGES provides.”
A ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony will take place on Thursday, August 13 at 10:00am. For more information on new and opening retail, dining and entertainment attractions at Palisades Center, visit palisadescenter.com.
