RACING FOR A CAUSE AT PALISADES CENTER’S
AUTOBAHN INDOOR SPEEDWAY
Pro-Am Race to Benefit the Penguin Plunge Organization
West Nyack, NY (January 2023): Palisades Center’s Autobahn Indoor Speedway and Orange County Fair Speedway are proud to host a Charitable Pro-Am Race on Thursday, January 26, 2023. The event will take place at Autobahn Indoor Speedway on Level Three of Palisades Center. All proceeds from this event will go to Penguin Plunge of Nyack, a 501c3 organization that helps local children with serious medical challenges.
The Opening Ceremonies will start at 7:00 PM, followed by an invitational Match Race. The following individuals will compete in a three-lap go-kart race for fun and bragging rights:

• Steven M. Neuhaus, Orange County Executive
• Lou Falco, Rockland County Sheriff
• Paul Arteta, Orange County Sheriff
• Paul Borghese, Movie Actor and Director
• Jeff Lewis, WRCR 1700 Morning Radio Host
• Jay Hood, Chairman of the Rockland County Legislature
“While gaining bragging rights for winning the race is fun and brings a certain sense of satisfaction, the true winners are those young people who benefit from the Penguin Plunge,” said Ed Day, Rockland County Executive. “To the extent that our presence in the race brings in additional donations that help these children deal with the daily challenges they face each and every day, well, that alone makes me feel like a winner.”
Professional drivers from Orange County Fair Speedway and other racing venues will compete against Autobahn Racing League drivers, including race fans. Orange County Fair Speedway Drivers committed to participate include:

• Plus, many other OCFS drivers
This year all proceeds will benefit four children with serious health conditions. Last year’s Autobahn Indoor Speedway Event raised $10,000. “Our goal is to raise $12,000 at this event to benefit the children of the Penguin Plunge,” said Peter Reynolds, Event Coordinator and Orange County Fair Speedway Sponsorship and Marketing Director.
“The generosity of our tenants is extraordinary, and Autobahn Indoor Speedway’s involvement with this event is a perfect example,” said Darrin Houseman, General Manager of Palisades Center. “We encourage everyone to visit Autobahn Indoor Speedway and support this incredible cause.”
Orange & Rockland Utilities Company (O&R) is proud to be the title sponsor of this event, supporting the Penguin Plunge. O&R is a dependable utility company supplying reliable energy to Orange and Rockland counties. O&R has a strong community involvement program that supports many not-for-profit organizations.
Spectators are welcome to this charitable event. A $15.00 donation will go to the Penguin Plunge. Doors for spectators will open at 5:30 PM to attend the Silent Auction and extensive Tricky Tray. An after-race celebration will occur at the Yardhouse on Level Four at Palisades Center.

The Nyack Penguin Plunge (a 501c3 organization) is an all volunteer charity that helps local children who have serious medical challenges. The Penguin Plunge’s main fundraiser takes place on Sunday, March 5, 2023, where people take a swim in the icy cold Hudson River, while donating money for the recipients.
