Palisades Center, one of the premier indoor shopping, dining and entertainment destinations in the United States is celebrating its 23rd birthday today, March 4, 2021. The new year will kick-off with the grand re-opening of AMC Theatres on Friday, March 5, 2021 and giveaways on Palisades Center’s social media sites throughout the weekend.
Palisades Center opened its doors on March 4th, 1998 in the heart of Rockland County, New York. Over the past 23 years, Palisades Center has been an industry leader in combining the best elements of traditional retail with world-class dining and entertainment.
“Over the past 23 years we have continually focused on providing our guests with the most dynamic retail, dining and entertainment experience,” said Darrin Houseman, General Manager of Palisades Center. “Each new opening and re-opening, like AMC Theaters, brings an exciting energy that fuels our spirits and makes us optimistic for the year ahead.”
In 2020, the pandemic forced the 2.2 million square foot, four-level destination to shut its doors for three months. Despite the shutdown, Palisades Center welcomed new tenants that include 7-Eleven, Aerie, Auntie Anne’s, BRIDGES and Pepper Palace. In addition, Palisades Center hosted over 350 non-profit events.
Today, Palisades Center remains one of the largest shopping destinations in North America with 200 businesses, including 26 dining venues and 21 entertainment options comprised of a bowling alley, NHL size ice rink, the world’s tallest indoor ropes course, the largest indoor miniature golf course on the east coast, comedy club, AMC 21-screen movie theater, indoor racetrack and more.
