Palisades Center is partnering with the Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce to shine a spotlight on a number of Palisades Center’s small businesses leading up to Shop Small Saturday on November 28. Approximately 30% of the businesses located in Palisades Center are owned by independent, small business owners.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our community, employing residents and supporting schools and local government services by paying taxes,” said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. “This spotlight initiative and the partnership between the Palisades Center and Greater Nanuet Chamber will lead to a bright future for all involved and I look forward to learning more about these independent businesses.”
“We encourage Clarkstown residents to shop small and support their local ‘mom and pop shops’ in the Palisades Center and throughout the Town, especially during this difficult time with the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Supervisor George Hoehmann. “Our small businesses are the economic engine of our Town and I ask all residents to join me in supporting our local shop owners and our economy. Bring your family and friends to the Palisades Center to shop and eat at a variety of stores and restaurants.”
“It’s an honor that entrepreneurs are choosing Palisades Center as a location to launch their businesses,” said Darrin Houseman, General Manager of Palisades Center. “Palisades Center is constantly innovating to provide customers with unique experiences. All the independent business owners in the Center are adding to that experience by providing distinctive offerings for our guests, while employing local residents.”
“Palisades Center has been a great partner for my business,” said Julene Finley, Owner of Color Me Mine. “Palisades Center was my mall growing up and establishing my business here just made sense. I love the draw it has not just in Clarkstown and Rockland County but also the larger surrounding area.”
Palisades Center will feature one small business every day in November. Businesses will be featured on the Palisades Center’s blog and social media channels. Customers can expect to learn more about the products and services these businesses offer and what motivates the entrepreneurs to succeed.
The Greater Nanuet Chamber’s mission is to create a vibrant, prosperous, environmentally sound, and strong community. Their primary method of achieving these goals is by promoting and supporting local businesses through advocacy, leadership and networking. The Chamber will be at Palisades Center on November 28 distributing Shop Small goodie bags to guests.
