Palisades Center Partners with Non-Profits

The pandemic crisis has taken an immense toll on Clarkstown and Rockland County’s non-profit community organizations. Yet demand for services from these organizations continues to increase while revenue-generating activities and events have been challenged due to shutdowns, safety regulations and social distancing requirements. That’s left non-profits struggling to find ways to safely engage with the community at a time when their services are needed the most.

As a proud supporter of the Clarkstown and Rockland County community, Palisades Center recognized this need and will be providing support with tabling space throughout the Center, free of charge, to non-profits for fundraising, community engagement and awareness campaigns. All non-profits are required to adhere to Palisades Center’s “Healthy Shopper Guidelines,” including the use of face coverings when on property and social distancing. A detailed list of additional requirements for tabling can be found here: https://www.palisadescenter.com/community.

“Our non-profits are the heart and soul of our community and it’s devastating to see how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted these organizations at a time when residents are reliant on them most. I applaud the Palisades Center for forging this partnership that will provide Rockland’s non-profits with a safe space to increase community engagement, fundraise and inform the public on their vital services,” said New York State Assemblyman Kenneth P. Zebrowski.

In 2019, Palisades Center hosted over 400 non-profit events and partnered with 61 different community-based organizations that utilized Palisades Center for education, awareness and/or fundraising. Palisades Center’s Community Report highlights the results of the Center’s collaboration with Clarkstown and Rockland County’s non-profit community organizations including BRIDGES, LiveOnNy, Rockland BOCES, and the American Legion.

“Giving back to our community is critically important and the foundation for everything we do at Palisades Center,” said Darrin Houseman, General Manager of Palisades Center. “Our local non-profits provide vital services to the community, particularly during these challenging times, and we are honored to provide them with a safe and accessible space to responsibly engage with the community and fulfill their missions.”

“The American Legion Post 859 of Suffern, NY is extremely grateful to Palisades Center for hosting and facilitating our fundraising efforts for the past several years,” said Gilbert Rodriguez, Vice Commander of American Legion Post 859. The many visitors to Palisades Center afford us the opportunity to reach a wide audience. We have been able to seek support while also reaching out to those we look to serve. Thank you again for your partnership and for providing a venue in support of our Veterans and their families. We look forward to our continued relationship.”

“LiveOnNY is a federally designated organ procurement organization responsible for all the New York City boroughs and the lower Hudson Valley counties,” said Roxanne Watson, Volunteer and Organ Recipient. “We have been a partner of Palisades Center for the past five years. Working together we have impacted all the surrounding counties and vacationers from around the world. Bringing lifesaving education to all its visitors, sharing organ donor education, and proudly adding at least 1,000 new organ, eye, and tissue donors to the NYS registry. Palisades Center is our lifesaving partner.”

“Our community and businesses need to do everything we can during these challenging times to keep our non-profits viable,” said Clarkstown Councilman Patrick Carroll. “In addition to providing important community services, our local nonprofits generate millions in revenue and provide thousands of local jobs. Kudos to Palisades Center for stepping up to help fill a community void, providing the much-needed fundraising space for these organizations.”
