BUFFALO SOLDIERS & MOUNT MOOR CEMETERY

BHM Blog Graphics 022021 3

We honor all soldiers who have fought for our country, especially the Buffalo Soldiers who lay in eternal rest at the historical Mount Moor Cemetery. The Buffalo Soldiers is a label first given to members of the African American cavalry regiments of the United States Army who served in the western United States from 1867 to 1896, noted for their courage and discipline. Today, there are numerous chapters around the United States, including the Rockland Buffalo Soldiers based out of Spring Valley, New York. We encourage our guests to visit The Mount Moor Cemetery during Black History Month and throughout the year, which is accessible by the F-Lot near Dick’s Sporting Goods. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
